As a tribute to Star Wars, this episode succeeds, but you can't help but wish that there was a bit more to it, considering the nature of the source material. There are quite a few funny moments in this episode, but simply not enough to account for some of the extended rehash sequences. The battle between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader is brilliantly offensive and hilarious as well. The bit where Lois tries to handle R2-D2's interface to send Obi-Wan a message is pure comic genius.

There are a few jabs at some of the absurd lines from the movie the dialogue about parsecs being a unit to measure distance and Han's statement about evasive maneuvers are handled really well. There simply aren't enough gags during these sequences to really justify their inclusion. It really does look and sound stunning, but after a few of those sequences, it's hard not to resist the urge to stop watching the show and swap it for the real thing. There are long extended space sequences that look like they were literally ripped from the film and cel-shaded. This is both good and bad, because while it looks stunning, it feels like you're actually watching Episode IV. The animation quality and music is true to source. As a result, most of the Death Star escape sequence features Peter and Brian carrying a sofa with them to the Millennium Falcon. Perhaps the best running gag was when Peter wanted to take a sofa that he finds in the garbage compacter. Other great Han moments include a hilarious take on the princess rescue scene from the Death Star, where Peter takes the awkward radio conversation about a "weapons malfunction" and runs with it. It's definitely one of the funnier geek-out moments of the episode.

Peter as Han Solo works out perfectly and not only does Han shoot first in this episode, but he does it with zero provocation from Greedo, and he shoots with a smile. Meg as the Dionaga creature is "laugh out loud" funny. Lois as Leia, Brian as Chewbacca, Cleveland as R2, Quagmire as Threepio, Chris as Luke, Stewie as Vader, Adam West as Tarkin are all excellent choices. The other character choices are spot-on however.
